Jamie has a broad litigation practice ranging from criminal law to corporate commercial litigation and personal injury. In over thirteen years of practice he has conducted a broad range of Supreme Court trials in matters from attempted murder to breach of contract. He also appears regularly before the Labour Relations Board and has an extensive practice in employment law.
In 2008 Jamie was appointed Chief Adjudicator for the Newfoundland and Labrador Human Rights Commission. He is also advisor to the Institute and Journal of Parliament and Political Law. A long time member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) he served as Secretary of the Provincial Branch in 2008. He is actively involved in Constitutional and Human Rights Law and is the secretary of the National Constitutional and Human Rights Section of the CBA. He is frequently asked to assist in drafting submissions to Parliament and has represented the Canadian Bar Association on questions of constitutional and human rights law before government departments.
As the only trademark agent in western Newfoundland Jamie has an active practice in intellectual property which complements Poole Althouse's large corporate commercial practice.
